Update  - Valuation of Land Act Amendment Bill

Following an intensive lobbying campaign led by the Property Council of Australia, with support from property organisations including the REIQ, the Premier today announced in State Parliament the future direction the Government is taking on this critical issue. The Government has acknowledged industry concerns regarding the damage the proposed changes to the Act would have inflicted on property markets throughout the state.

Update on the Queensland Government’s Land Tax Bill

Round two has commenced, with REIQ joining the collective lobby group, to heighten awareness of the government’s proposed valuations amendments through the Valuation of Land and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 tabled in parliament on 11 February.
